Dr. Lendvay is a passionate, energetic, straight forward, clinician who builds rapport easily and creates positive movement with his clients and affiliated persons. His area of specialty is helping people better understand themselves and their deeper intended walk in life. Often times, when people are experiencing symptoms such anger, depression, or anxiety, it can be an indication that the life being lived, is not their intended life. In other cases, the symptoms of depression, anxiety, or anger are indications that a person is going through a transformational time in their lives. During such times, Dr. Lendvay serves as a knowledgeable expert in best helping you understand your walk in life. For some of his clients, they get significant relief from undesired symptoms when Dr. Lendvay simply provides them with a deeper understanding of themselves and what they are going through. In other cases, Dr. Lendvay is knowledgeable enough about medications and their intended purpose whereby he will make the necessary consultation referral for you to explore the possible benefits of medications which may be used for short time duration or may benefit you on a long-term basis.
Throughout Dr. Lendvay’s lengthy career, he has specialized in assessment, diagnostics and therapy for children, teens and adults, and couples/marital counseling. If you are not sure what type of treatment may be needed, Dr. Lendvay will often meet with clients initially to determine a proper course of treatment would be for you. At ProActive, Dr. Lendvay works hard to serve clients respectfully, with compassion, yet in a straightforward manner. “Refreshing Authenticity” is a common descriptor that clients often use to convey their experiences with Dr. Lendvay. His areas of interest at this time are to help people better identify their emotional needs and learn to gratify healthy needs in a healthy and effective manner. Dr. Lenvay’s passion for people is consistently shown throughout his clinical work, and through his ability to network with other providers to meet the needs of his clients that has proven to be helpful time and again.
During Dr. Lendvay’s career, he has co-facilitated Marriage Enhancement/Preparation seminars through the Long Grove Community Church, has Specialty Experiences and Skills focusing on psychiatric/psychological diagnostic assessments and is very knowledgeable in the use of psychotropic medications but is not a prescriber. All medication decisions are done through a psychiatrist or other prescribing professional and Dr. Lendvay is very effective in competently working with prescribing practitioners to help his clients in an effective manner.
Dr. Lendvay is an Illinois Licensed Psychologist, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Certified Criminal Justice Specialist (CCJS), a Masters in Addiction Counselor (MAC), a Hypnotherapist, and is an Anger Management Specialist I (AMS I). He has over 25 years of clinical experience and healthcare administration. He has managed a variety of inpatient and outpatient psychiatric programs at Streamwood Behavioral Health Center, Glenn Oaks Hospital, Methodist Hospital, Edgewater Hospital, Rock Creek Center, Jackson Park Hospital. Dr. Lendvay has managed/provided clinical services for an Illinois Department of Human Services Grant designed for the clinical assessment and treatment of children and teens who presented with complicated psychological/psychiatric challenges with a history of minimal benefit from treatments elsewhere. He has also worked extensively with the older adult populations as a consultant throughout the State of Illinois and was trained as a nursing home administrator through Alden Care and Senior Living.
Dr. Lendvay has been involved at multiple administrative levels within healthcare designing the clinical "nuts and bolts" of training programs, clinical implementation, studying the trends of behavioral health patient needs, and the effectiveness of behavioral healthcare organizations from a fiscal and clinical perspective. Throughout his career, Dr. Lendvay has been blessed to have extensive experiences with children, adolescents, adult, and older adult populations. His practice continues to serve all of these age ranges with the additional support of 25 professionals, whereby we, as team provide services for a vast array of behavioral health disorders.
