DR. Paula Karnick, PhD, ANP-BC

Dr. Paula Karnick is a seasoned psychiatric prescriber of medications to best assist you when life is seemingly overwhelming. Her style is one of compassion and care combined with a vast knowledge of medications and therapy processes. Dr. Karnick will spend the time necessary to deeply understand her clients and to make best decisions cooperatively with them. Dr. Karnick completed her Master of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN) at North Park University in 1998. She went on to earn her Adult Nurse Practitioner Certificate from North Park University and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certificate from Marquette University in 1999. Dr. Karnick finished her Doctor of Philosophy Degree (Ph.D.) in Nursing in 2003. Currently, Dr. Karnick continues her ongoing passion to best treat her clients and is actively a student at the Catherine McAuley School of Nursing within Maryville University pursuing a Master's Degree as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

Dr. Karnick is certified as both an Adult and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the State of Illinois and has worked in a variety of capacities as both as nurse educator and clinician. Her recent experiences include serving as full time prescriber of psychiatric medications within a private practice located in northwest suburbs of Chicago. She has also functioned as Clinic Coordinator of Take Care Health; has taught in numerous positions as a Director of Education for Emergency Medicine; and has published many scholarly articles. Dr. Karnick is also a Peer Reviewer for the Journal of Emergency Nursing, and an Adjunct Faculty at Resurrection University. Dr. Karnick is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, the Emergency Nurses Association, the Illinois Society of Nurse Practitioners, the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, and the International Society of Parse Scholars.
