James Kondrat is a Loyola University Master of Social Work graduate and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. James became involved with behavioral health with a clear purpose and passion to work together with his clients in order to overcome adversity, recover from trauma, and navigate the challenges that life presents. James has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings with adults of all ages, genders, and sexual orientation. James has diverse life experiences that can help inform the treatment of clients who are experiencing the persistent effects of trauma, loss, grief, and struggles with changes in career, or transitioning from one phase of life to another.
James is a retired combat arms officer who served over 22 years in the US Army, active, reserve, and National Guard, which included a combat tour in Iraq. This experience allows James to be uniquely capable of helping returning service members reconcile their experiences while deployed and find successful re-adjustment back to civilian life. Having worked in a dangerous, high tempo, high pressure environment, James can relate to the challenges presented when working as a first responder, police officer, or fireman. James understands and relates to professions that bring with them the satisfaction of serving, but also exposure to experiences that can be difficult to integrate into one’s life.
