"It’s never too late to pursue your dreams.""Tough times don’t last, but tough people do."
These mantras have guided me through many of life’s winding roads — some deeply meaningful, others profoundly challenging. I’ve navigated the complexities of the mental health system, grieved significant losses, cared for a loved one with a chronic illness, loved people through the grip of addiction, and parented a child with exceptional needs. I’ve also experienced the evolving journey of learning to communicate with adult children. Each of these chapters has shaped who I am and deepened my empathy, resilience, and compassion for others.
I am a lifelong learner, always seeking growth through personal experience and professional development. For the past 23 years, I’ve worked in various community mental health settings, offering advocacy, support, and vocational rehabilitation services. These roles have enabled me to gain a strong understanding of the diverse mental health needs within our community, along with the tools and resources to help meet those needs effectively.
I believe wholeheartedly that there is no shame in seeking help. I reached that point in my own life during my 20s, when my husband and I faced a difficult season in our marriage. Starting therapy was a pivotal moment for us. We learned to communicate with clarity and compassion, to listen for one another’s needs, and to express our own. I’m proud to say we built something strong from that foundation, and we’re preparing to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary.
A Little About Me:
Outside of my work, I enjoy boating, biking, traveling, and playing games. I cherish time spent with my husband, our children, our grandchildren, and our loyal dog, Chip.
